Sanjeevani Chandak

Hi, I'm Sanjeevani!

I’m a Yoga Instructor based in India & im so glad to have you here!

Teaching has been my passion for the last 7 years. In that time, I’ve shared the practice with around 600+ people from the US, UK, Singapore, Dubai, Australia, Africa, India and beyond.

I’m extremely grateful for every single person who chose me for their yoga journey. Its a privilege to be able to make others experience the same depth and expansion that yoga brought into my life.

Yoga has been a part of my life since childhood and I started practicing Iyengar yoga regularly since I was 18. I was blown away by how effective and beautiful this practice can be and became determined to make it an integral part of my life.

A few years later, I had the privilege of becoming certified Yoga Instructor (Yoga Alliance) from the esteemed Sri Sri School of Yoga, Bangalore and a Yoga Wellness Instructor L2 (Govt of India).

I’m also a business school graduate (NMIMS, Mumbai), a graphic designer (ZICA), an acupressure therapist (ASPEUS), a licensed NAET, USA allergy elimination therapist and a website designer!

I love learning new things. In my free time you might find me watching a show, playing sudoku, painting, learning ASL, working on a new idea, listening to an audiobook, designing, or solving someone’s problems. In short, I’m always on a quest!

How I teach

The way I teach has changed over the years, but the heart of it has stayed the same.

Room for every kind of day

Not every practice needs to feel strong or ambitious. Some days ask for challenge & some ask for gentleness.

Learning to trust your body

One of the most rewarding parts of yoga is learning to listen. The goal is not to ignore discomfort or give in to fear, but to understand the difference.

We are not in a hurry

I care far more about what happens over months than what happens in a single class. Sustainable growth will always matter more than quick fixes!

Strength is built in many ways

Sometimes strength is found in synced movement. Sometimes it is found in staying present in a posture for a little longer than you thought you could.

Yoga is a relationship, not a performance

We have nothing to prove here. The practice is simply an opportunity to know yourself a little better each time you step onto the mat!

a longer note..

The way I teach has naturally changed over the years, but one thing has remained the same: I have never been interested in quick fixes.

You won’t find promises of abs in ten days or classes built around chasing a number on a weighing scale. What interests me far more is helping you build a relationship with your body that feels steady, trusting, and sustainable.

One of the things I love most about teaching is watching students learn to listen to themselves. Over time, yoga becomes less about copying shapes and more about understanding what your body is communicating.

Sometimes we close our eyes during practice, not because it is advanced, but because it helps us turn our attention inward. Little by little, you learn the difference between a genuine signal from the body and a fear that is simply asking to be met with patience.

My roots are in Iyengar yoga, so alignment has always been an important part of how I teach. But alignment, to me, is not about forcing the body into a picture-perfect pose. It is about understanding how a posture works, engaging the right muscles, and moving with awareness rather than force.

My classes always blend Hatha and Vinyasa because each offers something so important. Dynamic movement helps build stamina, confidence, and resilience & slower holds develop strength, patience, focus, and awareness in a completely different way.

I also believe there is space for both challenge and gentleness in a practice. Some days we discover that we are capable of more than we thought. Other days we move slowly, breathe deeply, and meet ourselves exactly where we are. To me, both experiences are valuable & neither is better than the other.

More than anything, I want my classes to feel like a space where you can arrive exactly as you are. No comparison. No pressure to perform. No expectation that every practice needs to look the same. It’s an opportunity to show up for yourself. The rest we can explore together.

Some of my students have been with me for years. Watching that relationship with yoga unfold is one of the greatest privileges of being a teacher! It allows me to be part of your journey over time, to see your progress, understand your challenges, celebrate your wins, and support you through the ups and downs that naturally come with any meaningful practice.
